On 50th Anniversary of the 1960 Olympics in Rome when the King Constantine, Odysseas Eskintzoglou and George Zaimis won the first Gold Medal in Sailing races for Greece (sailing the DRAGON GRE 3), the Yacht Club of Greece organized celebrations on the 21st and 22nd of May 2011 in Athens and honoured all the Olympic winners since then who have brought medals to Greece, inspiration to the younger generation and progress in all the sailing classes.

Two days of celebration included a Classic boat race, a Dragon Class race in which the King participated with his crew, various events and an official dinner with special prizes for all the Olympic winners and the race winners.

The Greek National Dragon Association is looking forward to welcoming the IDA to Athens for the Annual General Meeting in October.
