Gold Cup, Hornbaek

Postby Webmaster » Thu Sep 22, 2016 8:41 am

The 2016 Gold Cup recently held in Hornbaek was well prepared and organised and it was very well supported with 76 participants. An incident occurred on the Thursday which has been commented upon in social and print media. This incident raised concerns among some competitors and IDA officers about interactions between powerboats and competitors.

The IDA officers have conducted an investigation into the events and while they would have preferred a different decision by the International Jury in relation to the incident, they fully respect the IJ decision which is final.

The IDA is committed now to strengthen further our procedures and communications with OAs and juries to ensure that regattas are run as far as possible within our rules and World Sailing’s RRS so that the spirit of Dragon sailing is maintained.
